Welcome Back !!

Dear Children,
As the summer holidays come to an end it’s hard to believe that you haven’t been in the school building in five months. We have missed you all so much and are really looking forward to seeing you again in five days time. We’re sure you’re excited to come back to Scoil Bhride to see your friends, teachers and other staff members but we also understand that you might be a little nervous about coming back and that is totally normal too.
Scoil Bhride will still be the school you know and love but there will be some changes that we have put in place to keep everybody safe. Your parents and teachers will talk to you about these changes Some of these changes include:
  • New routines for coming into school in the morning
  • New routines for leaving the school in the evening
  • Designated entrances for coming into your classroom.
  • Seating arrangements in your classroom - you will be sitting in groups called Pods, not unlike what you are used to.  The only difference is the Pod will remain in the same for a longer time.  Alot of thought is going into these Pods so all of you are Happy in your classroom.
  • Designated Yard Zones for each class level (similar to last year)
  • The staff will be wearing face coverings, masks or visors, like what you may have seen in other workplaces or shops. However, we will still be the same people, just five months older!!
  • In the first few days and weeks we will be going back over key work that you might have done last year to help you get used to being back in school again.

We will also be reminding you about catching coughs and sneezes safely in a tissue or your elbow, regular hand washing, use of hand sanitiser and social distancing which we’re sure you have become very familiar with over the last few months.
It has been a difficult few months for most people but we have been working hard to make sure that school will be a safe and fun place for you to learn and we look forward to seeing you all on the 1st of September.
If you have any questions or concerns that you would like to ask us, please email the school (get your parent(s) to help) and we will do our very best to answer them as best we can!.
Enjoy the last few days of the summer holidays. See you all on Tuesday!

I have posted some pictures of your classroom below and a short video from the Department of Education.
Kind regards,
Mrs Sarah Ginty.
